From the moment of conception and through years of formal training, the trajectory of James Edwards life has been leading him to this place: the drumming engine of The Texas Toast. In 2014, his journey was finally realized when longtime drummer, Steve VanHorn left the band. A graduate of Houston High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, James is well-versed in many styles and has shared the stage with many musicians and groups. Among them are All Mod Cons, Elevator Up, 900LBS, Blaggards, and Moses Guest, of which he is still a member. In addition to The Texas Toast and Moses Guest, James also plays with The Joy of Djembe Drumming, an African-based drumming group that performs styles from around the globe. While he feels playing with respect to the song is an important attribute, his main goal is to play a beat that gets people dancing.He hopes to see you on the dance floor soon.
